Howard L. Allen, of Polk City, FL, formerly from Middleport, NY, died suddenly after a brief illness on June 11, 2013 at the age of 73. He was born on July 26, 1939 to Clifford and Elizabeth Allen of Middleport, NY. He will be interned at Arlington National Cemetery and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Arlington Cemetery.
He could never seem to retire and not go back to work. He retired from the US Air Force, 20 years, retired from US Postal Service, over eight years, Walt Disney World, FL for 12 years, small jobs in-between and was still working as a school crossing guard for the Polk County Sheriffs Dept in Florida.
He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Allen; brother, Paul Allen, both formerly of Middleport; and a son from his first marriage, Neil B. Allen, formerly of Barker. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sandra Allen; his mother, Elizabeth Allen of Middleport; a brother, Harold and Margaret Allen of Middleport; a sister, Carol Ann (Allen) Douglas Herriven of Middleport; a son and two daughters from his first marriage, son, Paul C. Allen of Utah; daughter, Karen Elizabeth (Allen-Bailey) Walter Burdett, Jr. of Gasport; daughter, Tracy A. (Allen) Roland Sevenski of Alabama. Also surviving are his step-daughters, Brenda (Genet) Anderson and Rick Hughes of Medina and Beth (Genet) Thomas Staples of Appleton; grandchildren, Cortney (Amber) Sevenski of North Tonawanda, Tifanie (Joseph) Noga of Tennessee, Kate and Meghan Allen of Utah, Zachary J. Bailey of North Tonawanda, Jarrett M. Bailey of Appleton, Douglas Anderson, Jr., Heather (Anderson) and Adam Dresser, Peter Anderson, Abygail Anderson, Daniel Anderson and Gracie Hughes of Medina, NY; five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and other family.
