Lockport Union-Sun & Journal
Brenda A. Ohol, age 49, of Lockport, NY, entered into rest Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, with her family at her side, after a long and courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's) disease.
Brenda was born in Batavia, NY on October 18, 1963, loving daughter of Ronald and Patricia (Swift) Lederhouse.
She was a graduate of Akron Central High School, class of 1981, and attended St. Teresa's RC Church in Akron. Brenda had a love for horses and for many years she and her husband were owners and trainers for race horses trotting at Batavia Downs and Buffalo Raceway.
If you met Brenda you would never have forgotten her. She always had a great sense of humor and a terrific smile. She made friends where ever she went just being herself. She will be greatly missed by the many people she touched in her 49 years on earth. God needed a special angel with that special gift so He called her home.
Besides her parents, Brenda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Michael Ohol, Sr., whom she married on December 31, 1986. Michael deeply cared for his wife and honored their wedding vows in sickness and in health. He cared for her at their home, never thinking of putting her some place other than the home they shared together.
Brenda is survived by a sister, Lisa Lederhouse; loving mother of Courtney Ohol; stepmother of Justina Ohol, Michael Ohol, Jr. and Melinda Ohol; cherished and special grandmother to Brittney. Brenda was also the dear grandmother of Brianna, Ariel and Charli.
Family will receive family and friends on Thursday from 4-7 PM in the CHILDS FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 10 Eckerson Ave., Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Teresa RC Church, 5771 Buell St., Akron. Burial will be in St. Teresa's Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials in Brenda's memory may be made to the family.
