LeRoy "Skip" Kurten, Jr.

ERIE, PA — LeRoy "Skip" Kurten, Jr., 80, passed away March 20, 2014, at his sister Dorothy's home in Erie, PA, and into the hands of his Creator. Formerly of Ransomville, NY, he was born in DuBois, PA Sept. 22, 1933, son of the late LeRoy Kurten and Elva Lee Ann Robbins Kurten. In 1951 he moved to NY and was employed at Durez Plastics for 34 years. He married his wife of 50 years, Joan (Cochran) Kurten, in 1963. He enjoyed watching baseball and old westerns. LeRoy was a member of the Historical Society of Ransomville, NY. His favorite saying was "Get r done". He was a very loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Kurten; two brothers, John Robbins and Jessy Kurten. LeRoy is survived by a son, Michael Kurten, NY; two brothers, James Kurten (Donna), NY, Mark Wilt (Lynda), OH; two sisters, Janet Crosswaite (Jack), NC, Dorothy Wilt, PA. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 2-5 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home beginning at 5 PM. Interment in Acacia Park Cemetery.
