Lou C. Hanney-Wojtkowski

MEDINA — Lou C. Hanney-Wojtkowski, age 88, of Gasport, entered into to rest on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Medina Memorial Hospital. Born April 24, 1925 in Lockport, Lou was the daughter of the late Willie E. and Leona A. (Noaker) Hanney.                                                              

Lou was married to Edward J. Wojtkowski, Sr. Mr. Wojtkowski died February 2, 2002. She worked at Gasport Welding and Fabricating, Inc. with her husband as Vice President and Secretary. Previously she had worked at Westinghouse in Buffalo and Silsby Storage in Gasport. Lou was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with a sharp mind for finances and organization. According to her grandchildren, Lou was the best cook and baker in the world. She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Gasport. She had lived in Gasport since 1952; previously of Lockport.

Surviving are her children, Edward (Beverly) Wojtkowski of Gasport, Richard (the late Gloria) Wojtkowski of Wilson, and Darlynne (Douglas) Sandstead of Colorado. Sister of Etta Mae Just of Gasport. Nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive Lou.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, from 7-9 PM. A  private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport. Memorials appreciated to Hospice of Orleans, PO Box 489, Albion, NY 14411; or the Buffalo VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215.
