Shirley A. Heideman

BATAVIA — Mrs. Shirley A. Heideman, a lifelong resident of Lyndonville, passed away on March 27, 2014, at United Memorial Medical Center, Batavia.

Mrs. Heideman was born at home in Lyndonville, May 28, 1933, a daughter of the late David and Ruth (Peters) Newman. A graduate of L.A. Webber High School, she married Charles N. Heideman on June 30, 1950. She enjoyed her shihtzus which she raised and bred. She was an avid reader, also gardened, picked strawberries and apples, and was fond of humming birds.

Mrs. Heideman was employed by Lyndonville Canning Company, Fisher-Price Toys, Thomas J. Lipton Company and the Lockport and Albion Walmart stores.

Survivors include three children, Deborah Rothfuss, Charles (Amanda) Heideman and Robert (Christine) Heideman; five grandchildren, James (Missy) Rothfuss, Ethan Rothfuss, Cole, Lacey and Tessa Heideman; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Muriel) Newman; a sister, Alice (Walter) Crutts; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on March 19, 1988; and her brother, George (Myrtle) Newman.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her service on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at 1PM at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina. Pastor Daniel Thurber will officiate and interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund.
