LOCKPORT —

Laken Brianna Pearce, 19, of Lockport, NY, entered into rest on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, NY. Laken was born on December 15, 1993 to her grateful parents, Ernest and Kara Pearce. Laken was a true gift from God.
In addition to her parents, Laken is survived by her younger brother, Tyler Pearce; grandparents, Bonny (Ray) Soro, Frank Weaver; aunts, Elisa (Dan Atwater) Weaver and Kathleen (Gerard) Scherer; uncle, Aaron (Angeline Wilkerson) Weaver; cousins, Jeremy Weaver, Caspian and Evangeline Hicks, Lauren, Alex, and Erik Scherer, Lianna and Lola Weaver. "Family is Forever" was a favorite quote of Laken's. Laken is also survived by many kind and caring friends who were more like extended family to her. She made sure to make time for everyone, no matter how busy she was with school and work. Laken worked at Ted's Hot dogs of Lockport where she made many good friends whom she spoke of with great fondness.
Laken was a student at NCCC since graduating from Lockport High School in 2012, with plans to transfer to UB this fall to study Occupational Therapy with the hopes to help children with special needs when she graduated. Laken was a dancer with Dance Images for about 10 years, where she assisted teaching classes for the younger dancers who were each unique and special to her.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on THURSDAY from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM where funeral services will be held on FRIDAY at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Corwin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
