Bessie Elizabeth Jones

LOCKPORT — Bessie Elizabeth Jones passed away March 13, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport Site. Bessie was born October 8, 1923 in the Town of Carlton, NY, the daughter of  Frank and Jennie (Jackson) Sargent. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Greenman and later married Raymond E. Jones in 1964, and they spent 44 years together until he passed away December 16, 2008. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, was very active with the Girl Scouts as a leader for several years, and was a Certified Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. Bessie enjoyed power boating and she and her husband, Ray, were longtime members of the Tuscarora Yacht Club, and was a Lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Bessie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Martin) Sefranek of Wilson, NY; grandmother of Leanne (Glenn) Haley-Brown of Wilson, NY and Martin (Jared Kronenberg) Sefranek of Rochester, NY; great-grandmother of Joseph Brown.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, March 15th from 4 to 8 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY, where funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM. Because of Bessie's devotion to her beloved dog, Faith, in lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wilson Dog Park, c/o Betty E. Haag, 220 Bay Street, Wilson, NY 14172-9796; checks should be made out to "Wilson Business & Professional Association" would be appreciated by the family.
