Dorothy Kolbow

LOCKPORT —

Dorothy (Nestor) Kolbow, born on March 1, 1933, entered into rest on October 31, 2013 with her family at her side in her daughter's home after a brief illness.
Wife of the late Keith Kolbow; beloved mother of John (Kathy) Kolbow, Daniel (Kim) Kolbow and Susan (Norb) Bochenski; loving grandmother of Scott James, Aaron (Jaimie MacInnis) Kolbow, Karen (Steve) Young and Brenda (Matthew) Kolbow-Chateauvert; great-grandmother of Molly Kolbow; sister of Frances (late Bill) Simpson and Edward (late Louise) Nestor; sister-in-law Jeanette (David) Miller. Also survived by an aunt, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
"Dottie" enjoyed her work as a teacher and as a court clerk in Newfane. She was active throughout her life in her church as well as in many civic organizations. Most of all, she embraced her role as a mother, grandmother and friend.
Visitation will be held at RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on SATURDAY from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Memorial Services will be held immediately following at 1:30 PM at Newfane United Methodist Church 2699 Main St., Newfane, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Newfane United Methodist Church, or the Belin Memorial United Methodist Church, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576; or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
