Muriel E. Shinn

ULYSSES, PA — Muriel E. Shinn, 78, of Ulysses, PA, died Monday, April 8, 2013. Born September 8, 1934, in Niagara Falls, NY and raised in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Frank and Elsie Carter   Tillotson. On October 9, 1952, in Fort Benning, GA, she married Leo B. Shinn, who survives.  

Surviving are her husband, Col. Leo B. Shinn, USMC Retired; a son, Leo (Lisa) Shinn, Jr. of     Jeannette, PA; a daughter, Lee Anne (Michael) Guryn of Ulysses;  a daughter-in-law, Laura Shinn of Port Charlotte, FL;  seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Frederick M. Tillotson of Syracuse, NY;  a sister, Helen Wandell of Vero Beach, FL; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, William F. Shinn on March 31, 2013;  a brother, James Tillotson; and a sister, Frances Tillotson.

Friends may call at the United Methodist Church, Ulysses, PA on Saturday, April 13, 2013, from 1:00-2:00 PM, with funeral services at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to David A. Howe Library, 155 North Main St., Wellsville, NY 14895.
