SANBORN —

William A. Saunders of Sanborn, NY, husband of Doris Hotchkin Saunders, entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by his family, early on May 12, 2013. He was born on September 3, 1925 in Olean, NY, the son of the late Agnue Allen and Priscilla Crego Saunders.
As a youth, he attended school in Lockport, NY and caddied at the Lockport Country Club, where he proudly shot a PGA certified hole-in-one on Hole 9. Bill joined the Marines Corps at age 17, serving in the China-Berma-India Theatre across many pacific islands in WWII. After his service, he worked as a lineman for Niagara Mohawk for 37 years. He spent his later years both playing and watching golf, bowling, gardening, and canning. Bill also played for the Lockport Essos Football team in the 1940's.
Father of  three sons, William (deceased) (Carol) Saunders, Terry (Maria) Saunders, Chris (Leslie) Saunders. Grandfather of Nate, Lindsey, Megan and Amanda Saunders.
No prior visitation. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. Donations to the Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
