Carl W. Ballerstein

VERO BEACH, FL — Carl W. Ballerstein, 82, went home to Our Lord on Friday, March 21, 2014, in Vero Beach, FL. He was born on December 21, 1931 in Wellsville, NY.  He was a devoted husband and father, and beloved by his large close family.

Carl served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Alfred Tech     College and was in Hospital Administration in Lockport, NY, East Liverpool, OH, and Romney, WV. He retired to Whitesville, NY and then to Vero Beach, FL in 1996.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Charlotte; daughters, Carol (Frank) of Federal Way, WA; Gail (Rich) of Vero Beach, FL; Karen (Anthony) of Crestview, FL; sons, Alan of Wellsville, OH; Kurt (Tracey) of Clyde, NY; stepson, Mark (Debbie) Bonner of Williamsville, NY; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his only remaining sister, Ruth Stisser of Wellsville, NY, and his friend, Tammy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothea Ballerstein; four sisters and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Our Savior       Lutheran Church, 1850 6th Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960. The family requests that memorial       contributions be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1850 6th Ave., Vero Beach, FL  32960; or VNA Hospice House, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home.
