Roger L. Ward

LOCKPORT — Roger L. Ward passed away on April 9, 2014. He was born on February 28, 1933, in Wilson, a son of the late Roy L. and Frances (Hanneman) Ward. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Wallace, Charles and Audrey Ward.  

Roger was co-owner of Ward Sales and Service with his brother, Warren "Bud" Ward until his    retirement in 1986. After his retirement he drove truck for Mawhiney Trucking. Roger was also an exempt member of the Wilson Volunteer Fire Company #1 and former member of the Eagles. He loved NASCAR, Fox News, animals, traveling, hunting, fishing and Harley's. Roger especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Norma (Jones) Ward; son, Daniel (Janet) Ward of Niagara Falls; his three grandchildren, Bridget (Dan) Holm of Las Vegas, NV, Monica (Robert) Froese of Kenmore, and Elena (late Mark) Spence of Grand Island; five great-grandchildren and his beloved cat, Bugzy.

Friends may call at the Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM. Memorials to be made to Wilson Volunteer Company #1.
