Harold F. Barnes

NEWFANE — Harold F. Barnes, of Newfane, NY, formerly of Lockport, NY, husband of Suann Ritzenthaler Barnes, entered into rest Sunday, March 3, 2013 in Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Facility.

He was born in Boston, MA, May 9, 1918, the son of the late Harold and Anna Riehl Barnes. He married Suann Ritzenthaler January 16, 1942. Harold served his country during WW II in the Army Air Corp as a navigator from 1941-1945. He was an engineering student at RPI and University of Buffalo. Harold worked for Harrison Radiator in Lockport as a production engineer for 38 years, retiring in 1978. Harold also was an avid golfer for many years.

Father of Bruce (Barbara) Barnes of Olcott, NY and Deborah Moore of Lockport, NY. Grandfather of Matthew, Joseph Mark and Jacob Moore, Rachel Godsen, Braidy, Troy Thaler and Evan Barnes and Livia Santchi. Father-in-law of the late Joseph Moore. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, TUESDAY 2-4 & 6-8 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Kim Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Newfane Rehabilitation & Health Care Facility Activities Fund, 2709 Transit Road, Newfane, NY 14108, would be appreciated by the family.
