Margaret Bascom

LOCKPORT —

Margaret Bascom passed away on June 17, 2013. Born in Lockport on October 19, 1932, she was the daughter of Stanley and Sophie (Zaranowska) Podeszek.
Margaret was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening, reading and coffee time with friends. She was predeceased by her husband Irving E. "Red" Bascom on June 27, 1995; by her daughter, Julie A. Briggs on July 17, 2010; and also by her ten siblings.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Sheldon Bascom and Michael (Nadine) Bascom, both of Lockport; son-in-law, John Briggs; grandchildren, Edward (Jackie) Briggs, Jennifer, Sarah and Robert Bascom. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, June 20th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where prayers will be offered on Friday, June 21st at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 AM in All Saints Parish, 76 Church St., Lockport. Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
