Stanley C. Walker, 83, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He was born in Corning, NY in 1930 to Raymond and Leah Walker.
Stanley served in the US Navy primarily aboard the USS Bennington from 1949 to 1954. He married Patricia Pawlak in 1952. Stanley worked for Dupont in Tonawanda, NY. He later retired from Niagara County Civil Service Commission in 1991 after 23 years of service. He was past president of the New York State Assoc. of County Civil Service Officers. Stanley moved to Cape Coral in 1991 from Pendleton, NY. He was a member of VFW Post 8463, Elks Lodge 2596 and American Legion Post 274.
Survivors include his wife Patricia; two children, Steven (Kathi) Walker of Culpeper, VA and Linda (John) Mamuscia of Raleigh, NC; five grandchildren, Leslie, Kevin, Leah-Marie, Jeffrey, and Elizabeth; three great-grandchildren, Mckinley, Benjamin, and Kevin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 3, 2014 at Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral. Stanley's final resting place will be at Culpeper National Cemetery in Virginia.
