Ellen M. Lewis went to her Heavenly Home on December 28, 2012, following a lengthy illness. Born on May 21, 1918 in Knowlesville, NY, she was the daughter of Horace and Gertrude (Thaine) Felstead, who originated from England.
She married Alvin T. White in 1940, who passed away in 1970. She married Kenneth C. Lewis in 1975 and he passed in 2004. She is also predeceased by her beloved brother, Herbert Felstead. Ellen was a hairdresser until 1983 when she retired. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, sewing, crafts and spending winters in Florida.
She is survived by her children, Donna (late James) Day, Thomas White and Marilyn (Rick) Talbot; her grandchildren, Diane (Scott) Smith, James Day, Jr., Matthew, Andrew and Kristen Talbot; and special niece, Carole Kennedy. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Kayley Smith and triplets, Connor, Cameron and Hannah Smith; and her step-children, Kurt (Linda) Lewis and Greg (Sue) Lewis.
The family would like to acknowledge the excellent care and loving support that Ellen received from the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home staff during the last few years.
Relatives and friends may call at Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport on Tuesday, January 1st 3-7 PM, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 AM.
