David F. Harrington

SHERMAN, TX — David F. Harrington, 66, of Sherman, TX, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his residence, surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman, and he was buried with military honors at the Veterans section of West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, TX on Friday, January 25, 2013.

David was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 22, 1946, to William J. Harrington and Marjorie Cavagnaro Harrington. He grew up in Gasport, NY and graduated from Royalton-Hartland High School in Middleport, NY.

He entered the U.S. Army 101 First Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. David received several medals of honor, including the Purple Heart. He married Joan Chuchla in Lockport, NY on January 23, 1971. They moved to Dallas, TX in 1971, and to Sherman, TX in 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Jason; brothers, William J. Harrington (April), Andrew Harrington, Nick Harrington (Jeanie), Jeff Harrington (Barb), Glen Harrington, Kevin        Harrington (Bev), Kent Harrington, all of Lockport, NY, Steve Harrington (Lynn), Roy Harrington (Heidi) of Gasport, NY, Donald Harrington of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Shawn Harrington of Tampa, FL; sisters, Mary Kay Harrington (Kathy) of Orchard Park, NY and Christa Williams of    Lockport, NY. He is also survived by 17 nieces, nine nephews, 10 great-nieces and 10 great-nephews, and many relatives in the Cavagnaro, Vanderlinde, Nieman and Porter families.
