Linda Kay Short

LOCKPORT —

Linda Kay (Henry) Short, age 70, of Lockport, entered into rest on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Born on April 17, 1943 in Indiana, PA, Linda was predeceased by her parents, Carlisle and Dorothy (Reinard) Henry; and her only sister, Sherry Alane Henry.
After graduation from high school, Linda took night classes at a beauty school. During this time, she worked at Penn Traffic Department Store in Indiana, PA. She married Harry Short October 17, 1964, and moved to Gasport, NY and then to Lockport, NY, where she had lived ever since. She enjoyed sewing, baking, taking care of her flower gardens and reading, especially the Bible and devotionals. Most of all, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Family and God were her whole life. She belonged to the Hartland United Methodist Church and also the Tuesday morning Bible Study.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Harry. Dear mother to Laura (Tom) Hubbard of Middleport, LeeAnn (Terry) Mandaville of Gasport and Brian (Kristi) Short of Sanborn. Devoted grandma to Jessica, Joshua, Shelby, Jordan and Paige.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013, at 11:00 AM from the Hartland United Methodist Church, 8019 Ridge Road, Gasport, with the Reverend Cheryl Brown officiating. Interment will be in Hartland Central Cemetery, Gasport, NY. Memorials appreciated to Hartland United Methodist Church, 8019 Ridge Road, Gasport, NY.
