Charles R. Corrallo passed away November 11, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on February 2, 1923, he was the son of Salvatore and Jenny (Friscia) Corrallo. Charles served in the US Army from 1943 to 1946 earning the Asiatic- Pacific Service Medal, WW II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked for Harrison Radiator where he was a machine repairman for 44 years, retiring in 1985, and Charles and his wife also ran Stranges Grocery before selling the store to Dutch Stranges. Charles was a member of the UAW, Knights of Columbus Council 319 and enjoyed wintering in Florida, golfing and bowling. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Stranges) Corrallo, in 2004.
Charles is survived by his children, Maureen A. (John) Degnan, Beth A. (Neil) Merritt, Susan M. (Raymond) Szyjka, Charlene M. (Tim) O'Donnell and Christopher C. (Jeanne) Corrallo; grandfather of Aaron (Heidi) Clarke, Jonas (Melissa) Clarke, Amy (John) Biasucci, Trevor Merritt, Ashley (Hiroshi) Takeucki, Brooke Szyjka, Andrew, Alex, Isabella O'Donnell, Corrinna, Shanleigh, Benjamin and Kellen Corrallo; great-grandfather of Maxwell, Zachary, Madison, Macie Clarke; brother of the late Mary Glover, Camille Riddle, Lena Yates, Josephine Burke, Benjamin, Samuel, Carl, Joseph, Anthony, James, Nick and Peter Corrallo; also survived by several nieces and nephews.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday, November 15th, at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church or to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
