Joseph E. "Joe" Donaldson


Joseph E. "Joe" Donaldson, of Appleton, NY, husband of the late Judith C. Gregg Donaldson, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Webster Springs, WV, October 9, 1934, the son of the late Daniel and Lela Bess Donaldson. Joe worked as a Millwright Carpenter for Local #280 in Lockport for many years until his retirement in 1997. He moved to Appleton, NY in 1973. Member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Burt, NY, where he was very active in church affairs and ushering.
Father of Martin (Kathy) Gregg of Newfane, Joanna (Roger) Nixon of Cheektowaga, NY, Steven (Linda) Pierce of North Tonawanda, David (Michiyo) Donaldson of Vacaville, California, Annette Pierce of Lockport, Daniel Donaldson of Sacramento, CA, Richard Pierce of Penn Yann, NY, and Angela (Kevin) Brinley of Hubert, NC. Brother of Carolyn Bragg of NC, J. Scott (Renate) Donaldson of Barker, NY, Judy (Bob) Blake of NC, Jerry (Judy) Donaldson of FL, John (Cindy) Donaldson of Lockport, NY, and the late Ray Donaldson. Also survived by sixteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, on FRIDAY from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on SATURDAY at 11:00 AM, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Wilson Burt Road and West Creek Road, Burt, NY. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery, Newfane, NY. Memorials to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Wilson Burt Road and West Creek Road, Burt, NY 14028, would be appreciated by the family.
