Irene M. "Ma" Fischer

NEWFANE — Irene M. "Ma" Fischer entered into rest on October 5, 2012, at the Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was born in Buffalo, March 6, 1920 to the late Ignatius and Mary (Czechowska) Karlinski.

The early part of her life was spent in Buffalo where she married her husband, the late Carl J.    Fischer. During WWII Irene and her sister, Dorothy, sang with the USO. In 1968 Irene's family moved to Pendleton where she worked as a lunch monitor in the Starpoint School District, and was fondly known as "Ma" Fischer. Irene enjoyed bowling, gardening and cooking. She loved her dogs and spending time with her family.

Irene is survived by two sons, Henry (Bernadette) Fischer of Lockport and David (Barbara) Fischer of Pendleton. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Janine, William, David and Alexander Fischer. Irene was predeceased by brother, Marvin Klien and sisters, Gertrude Schmidt, Charlette O'Conner, Jean Domagala and Dorothy Karlinski.

A memorial mass will be held at Good Shepherd Church, 5442 Tonawanda Creek Rd. N., in       Pendleton, on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10 AM. Burial will follow at the Bear Ridge      Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Home Gaul Chapel, Lockport.
