Elizabeth (Betty) LaPort Ranney Kinyon died on August 25, 2013, at Absolute Care Gasport. Born in Lockport, NY on October 23, 1931 to Leo LaPort and Alina Fiegl LaPort. Betty was the beloved wife of Raymond Ranney, who passed away on August 1990 and later, Ralph Kinyon, who passed away in February of 2006.
Betty was a beautician for many years, doing hair at the family home. She later traveled doing hair for the elderly in their homes. She was formerly a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Betty enjoyed gardening, birds, and card playing. She loved spending time with family, taking great pleasure in playing games and cards with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children, Michael (Jean) Ranney of Clarence, Rebecca (Richard) Scott of Lockport, and Markus (James Mack) Ranney of Buffalo; grandchildren, Collin and Jason Ranney, Amanda (Eric) Farrell, Sean (Angela) Scott, Emily Scott and Christopher, Lauren , Jillian and Joel Ranney and five great-grandchildren; step-children, David (Annabeth) Kinyon, Susan (William) Shaw, Mary (Michael) Hensberry, James (Colleen) Kinyon and Cathy (late Richard) Kinyon; and her brother, Jacob (Alyce) LaPort. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Betty donated her body to UB Medical School. A Mass in her memory will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28th, at St. Brendan on the Lake, Ewings Rd., Newfane, NY.
