Marilyn Nina Freer Adams Ward

HAMPTONVILLE, NC —  

Marilyn Nina Freer Adams Ward, 76, of Union Grove Road, Hamptonville, NC, and formerly of Lockport, NY, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Born in Lockport, NY on October 24, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Walter Freer and Dorothy Yoder Freer. She was a retired bus driver. She was twice married, first to John Q. Adams II and later to Ralph Ward. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Adams.
Survivors include sons, John Q. Adams III of Lockport, Walter Adams of Fernley, NV, Robert Adams of Lockport and Mark Adams of Island Palm, VT; along with a daughter, Yolanda Adams of Martha's Vineyard.
Services celebrating Marilyn's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Eagle Mills Assembly Of God in Hamptonville. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. Memorials may be give in lieu of flowers to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, Inc., 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625. Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home of Statesville is entrusted with the arrangements.
