Charles W. Pomeroy, Jr.

LOCKPORT — Charles W. Pomeroy, Jr. passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Lockport on October 3, 1925, he was the son of the late Charles W. Sr. and Marie Zenter Pomeroy. Charles retired in 1990 from Harrison Radiator. He was predeceased by his wife, Janet (nee Slattery) Pomeroy.

Charles is survived by his children, Jacklyn Brauer, Thomas Pomeroy and James Pomeroy; grandfather of Christopher Wiedenbeck, Ericka Pomeroy, Talon Pomeroy and Valerie Pomeroy; great-grandfather of Jenna Wiedenbeck, Skylar Pomeroy and J.J. Pomeroy. Charles is also survived by his loving companion of 22 years, Geraldine Wittcop and her children, Kim (Sue) Wittcop, Sr., Tammy (Rich) Groff, Dana Wittcop and Virginia Zimmerman, and her 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Charles was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Korff and Gertrude Van Buren.

Friends may call Tuesday 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, Inc., 242 Genesee Street, Lockport. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated by the family.
