Irene M. "Susie" Heck of Newfane, wife of the late Judson Heck, Sr., entered into rest with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport. She was born on December 10, 1924 to Caleb and Irene (Foster) Trowbridge. Susie and Judson married in 1947 in Wellsville, NY. Susie came from the City of Jamestown, NY to Newfane in 1955. She was a nurses aid for 14 years at the former Inter Community Memorial Hospital, Newfane, NY. She was a member of the Newfane United Methodist Church where she belonged to the ladies auxiliary. Irene was a long standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Newfane Historical Society.
Surviving are her sons, Judson (Kathleen) Heck, Jr. of Burt and Thomas (Bonnie) Heck of Lyndonville; a sister, Hilda Roderick of Olean. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Judson (Jill) Heck III, Thomas Heck, Jr. and Lindsay Heck; and great-grandchildren, Judson Heck IV and Jaycie Heck. She is predeceased by six brothers, Herbert, Howard, Foster, James, Adrian and William Trowbridge; and four sisters, Catherine Glover, Greta Page, Louise Trowbridge and Gertrude Barnes.
Friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on Thursday March 27th from 3-7 PM, where a funeral service will take place at 7 PM with Reverend Kim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Newfane Historical Society or the Newfane United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
