William Garvey

LOCKPORT — It is with great sadness that the family of William Garvey announces his passing at the      Niagara Hospice House, September 5, 2013, at the age of 75. Born September 7, 1937 in Allport, PA, he was the son of the late James F. Garvey and Pearl Fleeger Garvey.

William was a UAW Retiree from Harrison Radiator. In his retired years he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed carpentry, movies and playing cards.

William is survived by his wife, Marlene Rinaldo Garvey; father of John (Marianne) Garvey, Walter (Carol) Garvey, Richard (Josephine) Garvey, and his late daughter, Diana (Jeff) Blake. Grandfather to Mary John Kloch, Katie Garvey, Michelle Youroshowski, Lyndyann Richards, William Garvey, Marybeth Drahms and Cody Blake; great-grandfather to Frank Yuroshowski III, Shawn Pearce, Kymarri and Kymonni Bogart. He is also survived by sisters, Shirley Sutter, Kay  Sherwood, Eve Pierce; brother, Thomas Garvey and son-in-law, Jeff Blake.

Friends and family may call on Monday, September 9 from 3 to 7 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY, where funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 AM. The family wishes to thank Niagara Hospice for their kindness and support during this time and memorials to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
