Sidney M. Pearson, November 3, 1922 - September 4, 2013. Husband of the late Mary Alice Pearson of Wilson; son of the late Charles and Mary (Forde) Pearson; father of David (Carol), Honeoye Falls, NY, Charles (Rita), E. Amherst, James (Patricia), Milan II; brother of late Lillie Swanson (late Norman), Richard (Anne) of Kingston, late Justin (Frances) Houdaialle of Ocala, FL, Charles (Barbara) of Kingston, Robert (Marilyn) of Los Altos, CA; grandchildren, Melissa, Erin and Charles Pearson, Jr.; great-granddaughters, Madison and Macie Clark; also nieces and nephews.
Sidney graduated from Kingston High School in 1940. He worked as an Inspector for Republic Aviation at Houde Engineering until 1944.
Sid served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1944-1946 in India and China as Engine and Hydraulics Specialist. From 1946 to 1950, Sidney worked for Viking Artline. He moved to Buffalo in 1950, working for Frontier Industries at Buffalo Arms, Menzel, Wales Strippit and Buffalo Crushed Stone as a buyer. In 1962 Sid became Senior Buyer for Bell Textron, until retiring in 1985. They built a lakeside home in Wilson.
Sid was a Mason and active as a Chapter Dad for the Amherst Chapter of De Molay, receiving the Cross of Honor. He was active in St. Paul's Episcopal Church serving as Treasurer, Vestryman and Senior Warden.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 11 at 2 PM in St. John's Episcopal Church, 431 Lake Street, Wilson, followed by inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY, 2805 Wehrle Dr., Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221. Arrangements by Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson.
