Gary M. Andes

CUMRU TWP., PA —

Gary M. Andes, 58, of Cumru Twp., passed away on October 30, 2013 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Betty J. (Yoder) Andes.
Gary graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School and went on to attend Penn State University, receiving a degree in engineering. He later went to work for EPRI and Worley Parson where he worked for 18 years. During his career at Worley Parson, Gary created two Power Plant Emission Control Scrubbers, which are current US Patents. While living in Lockport, NY, Gary was employed with the Public Works Department for the City of Lockport.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy M. Andes of Cumru Twp.; sons: Wade (Sarah) Andes of Lockport, NY, Dean (Cynthia) Andes of Exeter Twp.; grandchildren, Bella and Ava Andes; brother, Charles B. Andes; sister, Carolyn K. (John) Rutherford of Lancaster, PA; niece, Kay Rutherford.
A Memorial Service will take place at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, PA 19607 on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Friends and family may call from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to The Penn State Blue Band, 27 Old Main, University Park, PA 16802.
