Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

Carol A. Meyers of Lockport, NY, August 20, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Theodore G.; dearest mother of Thomas O., Timothy F. (Robin), Karin E., Terance H., James M., Kathleen T., Christopher M., William R. (Martha), John P. (Joy) and the late Theodore (Teddy); grandmother of fifteen; great-grandmother of two; daughter of the late Thomas McGraw and the late Karin (nee Elk); sister of Thomas (Mary) McGraw.
Carol and her late husband Ted, somehow managed to raise 10 trouble making kids. Things weren't always easy, but there was always laughter in the house. Some of our fondest memories were the annual summer vacations at our Aunt and Uncles cottage on Cayuga Lake. These are memories that we will cherish forever. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and became a notorious animal lover in her later years. All of her pets were from various locations and all have their own unique and wonderful stories.
Carol most enjoyed talking about the accomplishments of and the joy brought to her by all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would relish the stories they shared. These stories would be shared at the annual family party. Each year, family members would come from all over the country to attend this party. Family members came out of love and respect for Carol and they knew how much she enjoyed seeing everyone.
Carols family was so proud of her when she went to Nursing School and graduated at the age of 49! She now was actually employed for showing the same compassion, empathy and giving nature she always showed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol's strong Catholic faith helped sustain her through difficult times in her life. That faith, along with the love of her family, made for a long and happy life for Carol. Many times total strangers would compliment her on her beautiful smile along with her sweet personality saying she must have a family she loves and a family that loves her very much. May she rest in peace.
