Nancy E. (Johnston) Bush

LOCKPORT — Nancy E. (Johnston) Bush passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 12, 2013,        surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Freda M. (Jex) and William F. Johnston. Nancy was born on December 19, 1948.

Nancy spent her working career as a first and second grade teacher in the Barker Central School District at Pratt Elementary School. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church in Lockport where she was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the St. Patrick's Altar & Rosary Society, and taught religious education and First Communion classes for many years. Nancy was also a Merit Badge Counselor with the Boy Scouts of America and worked with many scout troops in the area. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were her greatest joy.

Nancy is survived by her devoted husband, Ebin John Bush; and her beloved children, Todd (Danielle) Bush, Kevin (Jessica) Bush and Carol Helen Bush; her loving sisters and brother,  Maureen (John) Towler, Karen (Mike) Fenzl, Susan (Glen) Miller and Michael (Ellen) Johnston, and the late Carol Freda Johnston. She was the cherished "Nana" of Ebin, Emma, Taylin, Kennedy and Jackson Bush; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 12:00 Noon at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 76 Church Street, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 665 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14263. Arrangements by the TAYLOR & REYNOLDS FUNERAL HOME, corner of Transit and Niagara Streets.
