Franklin M. Zinck, Sr., passed away on November 16, 2012. He was born on June 10, 1933 to the late John and Helen (White) Zinck in Chatham, PA.
Franklin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Salem. After his service, he met his wife and they started their family in Corning, NY. In 1970, the family moved to Lockport where they joined the Faith Tabernacle Church. He was also a member of the Moose Club and Blind Veterans of Buffalo. Franklin loved family, fishing and hunting. In recent years, he enjoyed following the lives of his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Delores Mae (Abel) Zinck of Lockport; son, Franklin (Deborah) Zinck, Jr. of Clarence; daughters, Ellouise (Mike) Magrum and Sandra D. (Craig) Fresch, Jr., both of Lockport. Franklin is also survived by twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sons, Kevin and Edward Zinck.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 18th from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Ross Funeral Home Gaul Chapel, 263 East Ave., Lockport. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Faith Tabernacle Church, 5676 Beattie Ave., Lockport. Rev. Wayne Dent will officiate. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery.
