LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Cleanliness of pool is unacceptable

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — This is an open letter to the superintendent of Lockport schools.

I had the opportunity to attend my daughter‘s YWCA swim program during the last few weeks that was held at Lockport High School’s swimming pool. What I and others saw was disgusting.

The white tile around the bleacher area was dirty, yes dirty. It wasn’t white, it was a shade of brown. The floors were dirty also.

When I asked where the rest rooms were, I was told to use the locker room’s facility. I did, and that wasn’t clean either. I actually smelled urine in the locker room.

To say I was surprised at the condition of all of this is an understatement. It is actually unacceptable.

I cannot imagine what other schools think when they come to Lockport and see these conditions.

There is no excuse on this earth as to why this was in this condition, and it wasn’t for just one day, it was for the entire swim program, which was weeks.

There’s an old saying — poor supervision creates poor employees and obviously this is true in this situation. If I was your supervisor, you would all be fired, period.
