LETTER: Soldiers over gulls

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Soldiers over gulls

Wow, you had one small paragraph about the eight marines who were killed in Nevada, but the front page was about the sea gulls at the old mall. Really, it’s nice to see that the sea gulls are more important than the marines.

All the soldiers are risking their lives so everyone in this country can be safe, but what takes the headlines? A bunch of birds. Really? I love animals also, but these marines died in a training exercise so they could be prepared to defend our country. The birds nest there; it’s sad but not doing anything for this country.

I have two sons in the service, Marines and Army and I take offense that sea gulls take preference to them.
