Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — I am thankful for my mom and her enduring spirit. She is the reason why my childhood memories of the holidays are so special.
I am thankful for new writing endeavors including a writing group that has inspired me to pursue projects and try things that I had never tried before. This year was just the beginning of a series of projects that promise to be a great deal of fun. I appreciate Craig and Scott and everything that we have already accomplished together and the long list of accomplishments that lie ahead of us.
I am thankful for football on Thanksgiving. Every year, I look forward to getting up just before 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving to watch the parade. When that’s over, it is time for the pre-game show and 12:30 p.m. kick-off. Aside from Christmas morning, it just doesn’t get any better than that.
I am thankful for all of my customers because they make it possible for me to avoid having to get a real job and head to an office somewhere.
I am thankful for the Internet. I mean, where do I even begin with this one? I make my living online, keep in touch with my friends online and waste hours of time online. I cannot think of one single invention that could be put to greater use than the Internet.
I am thankful that both the Transit and Sunset drive-ins went digital this year. Not only is it a great picture with awesome sound, it means that both of these pieces of Americana will be around for a very long time to come.
I am thankful that the seagulls are gone from the old Lockport Mall site. I wish they were building a new mall there, but they are not.
