Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Years ago, I wrote several songs during a ‘season of storms’ when, at times, it seemed like there was ‘no peace, no where.’ By faith, I found shelter under the wings of God, who loved me, covered me, and gave me “peace in the midst of the storms.” He has since used those songs in recordings, television programs, plays, and performances to bless other people. I gained wisdom during my season of storms that I would not have otherwise had.
It has been said that “adversity builds character.” Romans 5:8 says “Tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character, and character, hope.” Popular author and speaker Joyce Meyer often shares her story of a background of abuse, divorce and poverty that God used to shape an international ministry that helps hundreds of thousands of people around the world. She says “you can’t have a testimony without a test.”
I believe that, like the master gem cutter, God can use the seasons of our lives to carve away the rough edges of our being, and reveal ‘diamond-like’ character when we let Him. Verse 11 of the third chapter of Ecclesiastes says “He (God) has made everything beautiful in its time.” I hope you will let God lead you through whatever life season you are in with His wisdom and perfect peace.Jackie Davis is an Inspirational Vocalist, Musician and Speaker with over twenty years of television broadcast experience.
