LETTER: Thanks for support

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — On April 26 BMP America, Inc. hosted a “theme basket” raffle to raise funds for the annual Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) event that will be held in Lockport this coming June.

This is the seventh year our company has sponsored internal fund-raising events to support the Relay for Life in memory of several employees who lost their battles to cancer. The theme basket raffle and chicken barbeque events are two of our most eagerly anticipated fund-raisers.

A successful theme basket raffle relies on donations from many individuals. In addition to support by our employees, we also solicited local businesses to see if they would be interested in donating a basket featuring their particular business to this year’s theme basket fund-raiser.

I am so pleased and humbled by the outpouring of support by our local businesses in donating items to this year’s theme basket fund raiser. We had a record 83 donations this year which would not have happened without the tremendous support of the local business community.

Donna Czaja, co-chair of the 2013 Relay for Life, assisted us in the drawings this year.

In addition to thanking our employees for both donating theme baskets and purchasing tickets for this fund-raiser, I would like to personally thank the following businesses who donated items showcasing their businesses for this great cause:
