City of Lockport
• CRIMINAL TRESPASS: Anthony Cescon, 16, 241 Ohio St., was charged Sunday with criminal trespassing and underage alcohol consumption. The police report said an Allen Street man told police he heard people walking around upstairs in a vacant apartment. Police said they found the suspect drinking alcohol, and a juvenile female who is the niece of the property owner. The niece reportedly had a key to the locked upstairs apartment. The report said the property owner did not give permission for anyone to be up there. Cescon is due 9 a.m. Wednesday in Lockport City Court.

• PETIT LARCENY: A Robinson Road man told police that sometime between Feb. 16 and Feb. 23, 16 hay bales from the field behind his barn were removed while he was on vacation. The police report said that the man noticed the missing hay bales when he returned, and it appeared that his own tractor was used to load the bales. The tractor had been moved, and the man also found that it was out of fuel, police said. The report said the hay bales are of considerable weight and could only be loaded onto a trailer using a tractor. The victim stated that he spoke with his neighbors and none of them reported observing any suspicious activity while he was away from the residence. The bales were valued at $720.
• THEFT: A Southview Drive man told police on Sunday an unknown person entered his vehicle and stole $150 in cash and a T-Moblie Sidekick cell phone worth $400. The police report said the car was locked, and it is unknown how a person gained entry to his vehicle. The car was parked in his driveway at the victim’s home.
• HARASSMENT: A Robinson Road man told police on Sunday that an unknown person has been posting his name, address and phone number on an online chat-room Web site. The police report said the posts also include untrue statements that he is a sex offender who has molested children. The victim believes an acquaintance of a relative may be responsible. Police instructed the victim to save the information and print it if possible. The investigation is continuing.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Dysinger Road woman told police on Sunday an unknown person had tried to break into her vehicle, which was parked in a lot. The vehicle was last observed undisturbed on Saturday at approximately 3 p.m., and damage was found to the front passenger door lock on Sunday at approximately 3 p.m. The report said someone attempted to breach the lock to gain access to the vehicle, but failed. No other vehicles in the parking lot were damaged, police said.

• BURGLARY: A Witmer Road woman told police on Sunday she left her house at 1 p.m. Sunday and when she returned at 5 p.m., she discovered that a unknown person entered her home and stole a Lazy Boy recliner worth $300. The police report said the victim left her front door unlocked, and there was no physical evidence left behind.

• SUSPENDED LICENSE: Amy Clunie, 31, 3911 Main St., Snyder, NY, was charged Monday with driving with a suspended registration and license. The report said police, while in the area of Campbell Boulevard and Beach Ridge Road, did a registration check of the suspect’s car, which showed the vehicle’s registration to be suspended. Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Campbell at Oakwood Drive, and the driver provided a New York state driver’s license identifying her as the registered owner. A driver’s license check also showed Clunie to have a suspended license, police said. Clunie is to return on April 16 to the Town of Pendleton Court.

• FRAUD: A Griswold Street man reported to police on Monday that he received a check in the mail from Powerpoint Financial in the amount of $4,890, stating that he won the lottery. Instructions on the letter attached with the check stated that prior to cashing the check, he had to call the number on the letter. The victim did this and received a recording that the mailbox was full. He tried again Monday and spoke to a person who advised him to deposit the check and to call back for further instructions. The police report said the victim realized it was a scam, and notified Verizon to make sure his number was not released. Police secured the original letter and check.
