BLOTTER: Police reports published April 15

City of Lockport

• TRESPASS: Stuart Brad Bickel, 39, 104 Park Ave., right, was charged Sunday night with trespass. A Washburn Street man told police April 6 that he has had several problems with Bickel in the past, and officers told Bickel to stay away from the man. On Sunday, the man said Bickel stood outside his apartment and yelled in at him. Bickel was released on his own recognizance and is due today in Lockport City Court.

• BURGLARY: A John Street woman told police Sunday that she returned home about 6:30 p.m. after being away for the weekend and noticed her Dell laptop computer, worth $949, was missing from her bedroom. The woman then found the apartment’s back door had been pried open. Nothing else was reported missing.

Town of Lockport

• VANDALISM: A Dysinger Road man reported early Monday that someone threw a glass jar at his windshield, cracking it. The man told deputies he believed the vandalism was retaliation because he had called to report a loud music complaint in another apartment. The damage was estimated at $300.

Wheatfield

• STOLEN VAN: A Baer Road man reported Thursday that someone stole a 1986 Chevrolet van, worth $2,000, from his driveway.

• VANDALISM: An agent for Cartus Relocation reported Friday that someone entered a residence on Spice Creek Road and caused damage. The suspect reportedly went upstairs, took the shower hose out of the bathtub and turned it on, allowing water to spread throughout the house. When the agent arrived Friday, the kitchen ceiling had collapsed and water was in the garage, basement and living room. Damage was estimated at $25,000.

Niagara Falls

• DWI: Mark S. Janeiro, 27, 70 Southcrest Ave., Cheektowaga, was charged Thursday morning with driving while intoxicated. A woman walking on Main Street about 5:20 a.m. called 911 to report a Pontiac, occupied by two men, was following her. Sheriff’s deputies found Janeiro driving a car matching the description on Main Street near Chilton. Janeiro reportedly had the smell of alcohol on his breath and failed several field sobriety tests. When deputies asked if he had been drinking, Janeiro reportedly said, “Yeah, but I’m OK, baby. I’m from the Bronx, man. I’m straight.” He was taken into custody and registered a 0.16 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test. He was held in lieu of $250 bail and is due today in Niagara Falls City Court.
