BLOTTER: Police reports published May 9

Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

City of Lockport

• PETIT LARCENY: Timothy R. Williams, 38, 163 Washington St., Apt. 8, was charged with petit larceny and making a false statement at 9:45 p.m. Thursday. Williams is accused of taking several unidentified items from Rite Aid, 282 Transit St. Police searched the area looking for a person matching Williams’ description after being shown security video of a man fleeing the store as a security alarm went off. The man reportedly ran across South Transit toward High Street and was nearly hit by a car. Police stopped Williams on Orchard Street, where a pat-down turned up several items in a sleeve of his jacket, according to the report. Williams allegedly said he obtained the items from an unknown man “around the corner.” He was held in lieu of $500 bail, pending a Monday appearance in City Court.

• HARASSMENT: Christopher Tagg, 22, 221 Green St., was charged Thursday with second-degree harassment. A Robinson Road man told police that starting about 11 p.m., the suspect sent text messages to him about 50 times in about an hour and a half. The victim sent a text message to Tagg telling him to stop, but the messages continued, according to the report. Police said Tagg told them he is upset because the victim is with his ex-girlfriend. Tagg is due at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Lockport Town Court.

• TRESPASS: John Platt, 21, 82 Cardinal Drive, was charged Thursday with second-degree criminal trespass. A Robin Drive woman told police she allowed a female and two males to enter her home so the female could retrieve some personal items. The report said while they were in the home, Platt, the boyfriend of the female, entered the home. The victim said she told him several times to leave, the report said. Platt eventually left the home, but police were called because the suspect and several other people were standing in front of the victim’s home, the report said. Platt is due May 28 in Lockport Town Court.

• DWI: Jeffrey Bobzien, 40, 7746 Wheeler Road, Gasport, was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated. Police said they stopped Bobzien’s vehicle in the parking lot of Oak Run Golf Course because it was traveling erratically on Lake Avenue. Police said Bobzien had an odor of alcohol, slurred speech and glassy eyes. Bobzien reportedly said he had been out drinking with friends and had pulled over in the parking lot of Oak Run Golf Course to call his wife at home. The report said the suspect registered a 0.18 BAC and failed several field sobriety tests. Bobzien is due Tuesday in Lockport Town Court.
