City of Lockport
n CHARGED: Two Lockport men were arrested at a traffic stop at 3:30 a.m. Saturday on Vine Street. Christopher J. Covella, 27, 77 Elmwood, Apt. 1, was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving without a license. Jeremy P. Vancleve, 26, 299 Center St., was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. They searched the vehicle and found a pipe used for marijuana and a clear baggie of marijuana.
Ransomville
n BURGLARY: A Ransomville Road woman reported that when her children came home Friday afternoon they found the back door partially opened. She discovered a plastic jar containing approximately $35 in change was missing from the kitchen.
Newfane
n LARCENY: A Wilson woman reported her former home on Transit Road is missing items and that the house was ransacked. The home is in foreclosure and the victim has been out of the house since Dec. 27. According to the victim, the patio furniture off the rear deck is missing, including a handmade Amish table and a porch swing. Also the interior of the home has been ransacked and the basement has approximately three feet of standing water.
n IDENTITY THEFT: A Main Street resident reported that on Friday morning a Bank of America representative contacted her and stated someone was attempting to open a credit card in her name May 3.
Town of Lockport
n PETIT LARCENY: An Aiken Road man reported to patrol that sometime overnight Thursday an unknown person stole a Garmen GPS model C330 from his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the driveway. The loss is estimated at $269.
Wheatfield
n CHARGED: A man and a woman were arrested in the parking lot of the C Store at the corner of Williams and River Road while the store was closed Thursday about midnight. Michael A. Quarcini Jr. 34, 1622 Eighth St., Niagara Falls, was charged with false impersonation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Ellen L. Hager, 36, 4777 Creekside Parkway, Niagara Falls, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Quarcini and Hager gave false information and deputies seized two rocks of suspected crack and a glass smoking pipe. Hager and Quarcini are scheduled to appear Thursday at Town of Wheatfield Court.
Niagara Falls
n ASSAULT: Zachery R. Ripley, 25, 474 20th St., was charged at 2:45 a.m. Saturday with second-degree assault. The victim had approached a female at Bragg’s Restaurant when Ripley reported told him, “That’s my girl.” The victim walked away but a few minutes later, Ripley smashed a glass over the man’s head. The victim was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he received five staples for an 11.5 inch laceration on his head, according to the police report.
