CHARGED: Michael M. Stewart, 26, 27 Elmwood Ave., was charged with third-degree burglary and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. The victim said Stewart was escorted out of her Remick Parkway home on Sunday by police. On Monday morning, the victim said she began receiving cell phone calls from Stewart, who was suspected of calling from her house. The police surrounded the house and cleared the house with the help of the K-9 unit. Stewart, who reportedly was in the house, was arrested and taken to the police station. The victim requested an order of protection.

CHARGED: Julie R. Dean, 25, 82 Waterman St. Apt. 3, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Dean was ticketed for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation April 25. There was a court order prohibiting Dean from driving.

DWI: Bryan D. Eaton, 33, 663 Lincoln Ave. was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. The police responded to Price and Waterman streets for the report of an accident at 1:40 a.m. Monday and found a car overturned on its passenger side with the driver inside. It appeared the vehicle had struck a telephone pole and a tree. The Lockport Fire Department extricated Eaton from the vehicle. Police said e did not appear to be injured and refused to be taken to the hospital. Police noted an odor of alcohol, and Eaton failed field sobriety tests, according to reports.

BURGLARY: Jeremy L. Haney. 27, 320 Gooding St. Lockport, was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief, driving while intoxicated and failure to signal. At 4:37 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a call of a burglary in progress. The caller reported man was fleeing the scene on Transit Road towards McKee Street in a blue Ford Explorer and driving northbound on Transit. According to police, the Ford Explorer quickly turned right onto East Avenue and failed to signal. At a traffic stop, Haney reportedly smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes and slurred speech. He failed field sobriety tests, according to reports. He was arrested on charges of DWI and failure to signal. Later at Miller Hose Fire Co., Haney was identified as the man attempting to gain entry to the fire hall by a witness. Haney was charged with attempted burglary and criminal mischief. He registered 0.13 percent blood alcohol content, according to reports.

GRAND LARCENY: A Youngstown man reported that an unknown person broke into his storage unit and removed a dirt bike, an oxygen tank with hoses and some miscellaneous boxes with personal items. The owner said he had not been to the unit in almost three months, and the lock was cut off. The items were valued at $1,250.

Wheatfield

GRAND LARCENY: A Grand Island man reported an unknown person removed his wallet and cell phone from the counter of Rainbow Tropical Fish inside The Summit mall. The victim said he was helping some customers out in the back of the store, and when he returned to the front, he found his wallet and cell phone missing. The wallet contained his identification cards, as well as credit and debit cards.
