Staff Reports
Lockport Union-Sun & Journal

City of Lockport

• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Dishan J. Barnes, 29, 45 Ontario St., Apt. 412, was charged with disorderly conduct. Police saw several people arguing Friday on Washburn Street. They separated the parties but Barnes yelled obscenities and several vulgar words in public, police reports said.

• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Paige E. Henley, 7345 W. Somerset Road, Appleton, was charged with disorderly conduct, and Stanley Presha, 18, 655 Lincoln Parkway, was charged with an underage alcohol violation. The police responded for the report of underage alcohol and marijuana at a party Friday night on Grant Street in Lockport. Individuals were seen fleeing on foot in various directions when police arrived. Henley was located sitting in the driveway. She became argumentative and belligerent, according to the report. Several others were seen in the residence but refused to open the door. It was not determined if the resident was present at the time.

• CHARGED: Brittani N. Berfield, 21, 9 Bright St., Apt. 4, was charged with second-degree obstruction of government administration. Officers were dispatched the area of Genesee and Washburn Street at 8 p.m. Friday for a group of people fighting. Berfield returned to the scene after being told to leave more than three previous times. According to the report, she interfered with the officer and was yelling and screaming.

• HARASSMENT: Vernon L. Henry, 44, 368 Walnut St., was charged with second-degree harassment. The police responded to Elm Court for a harassment report on May 8. The victim reported she was walking on Genesee Street with her five children when she was threatened by Henry. The victim was alarmed and requested an order of protection. It was forwarded to the department’s warrants division and Henry was arrested on Genesee Street on Friday.

Newfane

• BURGLARY: The manager of the Chinese Food King reported that an unknown person entered the restaurant through an open rear sliding window, by removing the screen and entering the open window. The person stole the cash register from the counter and used a cooking fork to pry open the cash register. Approximately $100 in cash was taken. A police bloodhound ran a track from the restaurant to a rear apartment door on Main Street. The sheriff’s department interviewed people inside the rear apartment and an investigation is continuing. There was $50 damage to the screen window.

Wheatfield

• CHARGED: Jeramy A. Weeden, 20, 1827 Pierce Ave., Niagara Falls, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. At 2:55 a.m. Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Niagara Falls Boulevard for failure to keep right. A small plastic baggy containing suspected marijuana was found. Weeden was issued an appearance ticket and a verbal warning for failure to keep right.
