n DRUGS: Jeffrey S. Hewitt, 18, 91 Niagara St., Apt. 3, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child Sunday. Officers responded to Hewitt’s building looking for a suspect in another case and spoke with a juvenile boy who reportedly possessed a marijuana pipe in his shorts. The boy told officers that neither the shorts nor the pipe belonged to him. Hewitt reportedly said the shorts and the pipe were his and that he’d loaned the shorts to the boy and forgotten about the pipe. Hewitt was held in lieu of $250 bail.
n DWI: Robert B. Wojewoda III, 27, 6247 S. Transit Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated Monday. Officers responded to a Davison Road home on a report that Wojewoda was vandalizing a car in the parking lot. Officers interviewed Wojewoda and found he had driven to the address, the report said. Wojewoda is due Wednesday in Lockport City Court.

n CONTRABAND: A corrections officer told deputies that during a routine search of an inmate’s cell, he found a small plastic bag containing suspected cocaine. The bag was in a pair of underwear inside a property bin. The inmate reportedly said the property bin was his. The suspected cocaine was sent to the county lab for testing; charges may be pending against the inmate, the report said.
n CAR FIRE: A Main Street, Clarence, man told deputies he was putting transmission fluid into his 1992 Ford Mustang, which was parked in the Woodlands, when a fire ignited in the car. Personnel from Rapids Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene and put out the blaze. The man said he’d been having electrical problems with the car. No injuries were reported.
n DWI: Dawn Renee Babcock, 43, 4 Crestwood Drive, was charged with DWI Saturday morning. Deputies were driving on Dysinger Road when they reportedly saw Babcock’s car pull out in front of another, causing that car to brake heavily. Deputies followed Babcock and reportedly saw her cross the fog line. After a traffic stop, Babcock allegedly admitted to having three beers at her home. She allegedly failed several field sobriety tests and registered a 0.11 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test. She was held in lieu of $250 and is due today in Lockport Town Court.

n LARCENY: An employee of R&M Paving and Sealing reported Friday that employees were sealing a driveway on Snell Grove Drive and left an Intec blower at the end of the driveway. When they returned to their work truck after finishing the driveway, the blower was gone. The blower is worth $500, the report said.
