BLOTTER: Police reports published Aug. 27

City of Lockport

• CHARGED: Jeremiah J. Conert, 31, 197 Pine St. Apt. 3, was charged with second-degree criminal trespass. The patrol responded to John Street for the report of a possible harassment. According to the police report, Conert entered the apartment and began punching a visitor and refused to leave. The resident called the police and wished to prefer charges; the victim did not want to pursue charges. Conert was located at his residence and arrested without incident.

• CHARGED: Jason C. Cain, 25, 9712 Mountain Road, Middleport, was charged with second-degree forgery, possession of a charged instrument, petit larceny and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. Cain was arrested Monday in connection with an incident that occurred Feb. 1 on East Avenue. The victim reported that two stolen checks were forged for a total of $340 at First Niagara Bank. At that time, the victim did not want to prosecute. On Aug. 20, the victim’s house was raided by police, and 32 marijuana plants were seized. The caller said that Cain wanted her to take the blame for the plants and wanted to pursue charges. Cain was picked up in Middleport.

Town of Lockport

• GRAND LARCENY: A Buffalo company reported a burglary Tuesday morning at Tonawanda Creek Road work site. A Deltex Electric employee said unknown persons entered the housing project under construction and took cable valued at $4,500. The lock was broken on the temporary door to the electrical room. There are no known suspects at this time.

Youngstown

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Lake Road resident reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person broke the door off her roadside metal mailbox. The victim said Tuesday that other mailboxes in the area also were damaged.

Porter

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A New Road resident reported an unknown person came up to the front window and hit it, causing damage to the screen and trim around the window. The patrol located a homemade hammer laying in the flower bed. There is a suspect, according to the sheriff’s report. Damage was $100.

Newfane

• CHARGED: Mark A. Fose, 20, 6238 Lockport-Olcott Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at stop sign and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. At 5:30 p.m. on Monday, the patrol observed a Dodge Caravan go through the stop sign at Dale and Lockport Olcott Road, almost striking the patrol car. Patrol was forced to slam on the brakes in order to avoid a collision. According to the report, Fose’s eyes were glassy and bloodshot and he could not keep his attention on the patrol. Fose reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. While being transported to the jail, Fose reportedly made statements to police that he had been smoking “weed” immediately prior to the traffic stop.
