• LARCENY: David L. Hens, 18, 6635 Royal Parkway North, was charged Wednesday with petit larceny. A Medina man told deputies he gave Hens and another man a ride to Tops and stopped to pick up his daughter on the way, leaving Hens and the other man in the car. Hens allegedly opened the glove compartment and stole a check out of the man’s checkbook.
• LANDLORD DISPUTE: A Laurelwood Avenue woman told deputies Thursday her landlord entered her trailer without her permission about 8:33 a.m. and walked in on her while she was undressed. The landlord told deputies he was “trying to get a payment.” Deputies informed him he was in violation of real property law and told him to leave, the report said.
Pendleton
• LARCENY: A Mapleton Road man reported Thursday that sometime since Sept. 28, someone tried to steal his 1999 Arctic Cat snowmobile, worth about $700. The man said the snowmobile was on a trailer behind his home, and it appeared someone had tried to tow the trailer away using an ATV but had failed because of swampy conditions. He said he found the snowmobile in the back of his property.
Royalton
• STOLEN CAR: A Dunkirk woman told deputies Thursday that overnight, someone stole her 1998 Plymouth Neon from a driveway on Central Avenue. The car is worth about $2,000, the report said. The woman said a Marlin 30/30 rifle with no ammunition is in the trunk of the car.
Ransomville
• VANDALISM: A Palmer Road woman reported Thursday that she heard someone yelling, “Hey!” three times outside her home about 4:20 a.m. She went outside and found no one there, but someone had carved an expletive on the side of the house. The damage is estimated at $25, the report said.
Wheatfield
• BURGLARY: A Katie Drive woman reported Wednesday that sometime since Sept. 28, someone stole her engagement ring and wedding band, which were either by the kitchen sink or in her bedroom. The rings are worth $3,000, the report said.
• LARCENY: An employee of Niagara Emporium on Williams Road reported Wednesday that two men walked into the store about 8:33 p.m. One of the men took her to a corner of the store to ask questions about a piece of furniture. The employee said the questions seemed generic, and the man seemed uninterested in the answers, so she left him and returned to the register. There, she reportedly saw the second man with a pair of scissors in his hand, holding the cash register upside-down. When the employee threatened to call police, the second man insisted he was looking for a phone book, but then fled the scene. The first man said he was not involved in the incident, but fled the scene through the same door before deputies arrived. He is described as a black male in his late 30s, with a large build, wearing black boots, jeans and a sweatshirt. The second man is described as a white male in his late 30s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, with a medium build and short hair, wearing wire-rimmed glasses, jeans, a blue cotton shirt and a baseball cap. The damage to the cash register was estimated at $200, the report said. The scissors were left at the scene.
