• REGISTRATION SUSPENDED: Karla McGrigg, 41, 5677 South Transit Road, was charged Sunday morning with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. The report said police saw the suspect traveling north on South Transit Road and a check of the vehicle’s registration showed it was suspended in August for an insurance lapse. Police stopped the vehicle near Strauss Road, and the driver, identified as McGrigg, told police she had missed an insurance payment but thought it wasn’t a problem. The report said McGrigg was able to provide police with a current valid vehicle insurance card, but had no registration card for the vehicle. McGrigg is due at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 in Lockport Town Court.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Branch Street man told police on Saturday that overnight someone caused about $1,000 damage to his 1998 GMC Sierra pickup truck while it was parked at his son’s home on Crestwood Court. The report said there was extensive damage to the paint and windows of the vehicle, apparently made by a stone that was left at the scene. The steering column was cracked open in a possible theft attempt. The report said the victim’s son, who uses the truck for work, believes the damage was caused by a neighbor to a work site where he is demolishing a trailer. The son said the neighbor was angry over accidental lawn damage. Police will continue investigating, the report said.
