BLOTTER: Police reports published Oct. 9

City of Lockport

• GRAND LARCENY: Eric Richards, 28, 6221 Tonawanda Creek Road, Apt. 18, was charged Thursday with fourth-degree grand larceny. A Robert Drive woman told police Richards walked out of a store with a basket full of products and lifted the basket over the sensors at the door. A co-worker saw the suspect drive away in a vehicle, and officers contacted the owner, according to the report. The items taken included Prilosec, Advil, Tylenol and Advil Liquid, totaling $1,245.36, the report said. Richards is due Wednesday in Lockport City Court.

• FALSE REPORT: Ronald Skilton, 28, 472 Prospect St., was charged Thursday with third-degree false reporting of an incident. Police were called to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Lockport and spoke to Skilton, who said he had been assaulted and cut on his wrist by a man with a knife. The hospital staff told police they believed Skilton cut his own wrists. A Prospect Street woman told police Skilton cut himself. Skilton was transferred to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

• PETIT LARCENY: Logan Gillon, 17, 103 Elmwood Ave., front apartment, was charged Wednesday with petit larceny. The police report said staff from a Walnut Street café told officers a donation jar was taken from the counter. The staff said two men had come in to the restaurant, and a third waited outside. One asked for a menu, while the other took the jar when the worker turned around, the report said. Police arrested Gillon on Washburn Street, but police were unable to locate the other man. The investigation is continuing. The report said $15 was in the jar, and $5 taken from a tip jar. Gillon is due Wednesday in Lockport City Court.

Hartland

• BURGLARY: A Carmen Road woman told police Wednesday someone took about 12 Oxycontin pills from her kitchen counter between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Oct. 1. The pills were valued at $20, the report said, and were taken when the victim left the house with the garage door open and main door leading to the house unlocked.

Pendleton

• LARCENY: A John Street man reported to police Thursday that an unknown person entered his vehicle while it was in the parking lot of Pendleton Town Court. The suspect took his Garmin GPS, valued at about $300 ,and $200 in cash from the vehicle, the report said. The victim said he thought the car was locked, but could not be certain. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.
