City of Lockport
n CHARGED: Matthew W. Neal, 25, 45 Kramer St., Apt. 2, North Tonawanda was charged with second degree harassment and obstruction of government administration. The patrol responded to Washburn Street for an unwanted party at 4 a.m. Saturday. Neal was reportedly yelling in obscene language and pushed an officer. He was physically subdued. Neal was angry because an unknown person punched him in the face while he was sleeping. Neal was treated an released.
n CHARGED: Two Lockport men were arrested after an incident Friday evening on Washington Street. David Lopez, 29, 99 Robinson Place was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and an equipment violation. Michael D. Poole, 26, 86 Gabriel Drive, was charged with second degree criminal impersonation. Lopez was stopped on Washington Street for a muffler violation. The police detected a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and found two marijuana cigarettes in the ash tray. Poole gave a false information as to his identity. There is an active warrant out of Georgia for Poole for marijuana smuggling and a probation violation for cocaine possession. Georgia will not extradite.
n CHARGED: Andre A. Payne, 38, 182 Genesee St. Apt. 2 was charged with second degree criminal contempt. The victim reported Friday she received a call on her cell phone from Payne. The victim has an order of protection against Payne.
Royalton
n ARSON: A Dodge Caravan which was behind to the Wolcottsville Fire Department for training exercises was found fully engulfed in flames behind the fire hall Saturday. The fire was very suspicious, according to the report. The apparent arson did not cause any known injuries, but did completely destroy the Dodge Caravan.
Town of Lockport
n PETIT LARCENY: A Niagara Falls woman reported her purse was stolen purse from her vehicle which was in the parking lot of One Eyed Jacks in the Town of Lockport. She said that she left her purse on the floor of the back seat behind the passenger side Friday night. The purse contained of her drivers license, a Cricket phone, a Key Bank check book with checks, a social security card and her prescription eye glasses. Total value was listed at $250.
Newfane
n BURGLARY: A Dale Road woman reported Friday that her John Deere Gator, weed trimmer and a 50 CC 4-wheeler was missing. It appears that unknown person gained entry into the hangar by pushing in a section of wall that was behind a wood burning stove using a large piece of pipe. It has been about two weeks since anyone has been in the hangar. The value was estimated at $3,710.
Gasport
n CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Seaman Road resident reported that sometime between 11 p.m. on Thursday and 10 a.m. on Friday someone entered the yard and poured sugar into the gas tank of his 1999 Oldsmobile which was parked in the driveway. The victim estimated damage could total $2,000. The victim stated that at approximately 3 a.m. he noticed someone leaving on foot from the driveway area. He recognized the suspect.
Niagara Falls
n CHARGED: Joshua C. Schimmel, 21, 54619th St. was charged with disorderly conduct. The sheriff’s department assisted Niagara Falls police at a fight call at Niagara Motel, possibly involving knives, Friday morning. According to the report, the officer was placing one of the male participants under arrest, when his brother, who was in a vehicle at scene, became highly agitated. Schimmel allegedly jumped out of his vehicle with fists clinched and refused patrols commands to get back in his vehicle. Patrol hit Schimmel once, with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground. An ambulance was called and signed off any treatment.
n ARMED ROBBERY: Around 9:31 p.m. Friday, a MacKenna Avenue resident was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in his own home. The victim reported to police an acquaintance came to his door asking if he wanted to buy drugs. During the encounter, a man with a 22-caliber rifle came up behind the group and ordered them into the house and onto the floor, according to the police report. The suspect reportedly grabbed $200 and a cell phone out of the victim’s pockets. He then pointed the gun at the victims while another suspect went through the house. The victim was told if he called the police, the suspects would kill him.
n ASSAULT: Leonard Ingram, 49, 1901 Falls St., Apt. 7, was charged at 3:09 p.m. Saturday with third-degree assault and second-degree harassment for reportedly attacking a woman. According to the police report, Ingram picked up the victim and threw her and then kicked her while she was on the ground. The woman’s right shoulder and collar bone appeared to be fractured from the incident and she was transported to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment, the report said.
n SHOPLIFTING: Nordeen V. Harris, 44, 1941 Whitney Ave., was charged at 10:15 a.m. Saturday for reportedly attempting to steal merchandise at the Niagara Falls Boulevard Target store. Security personnel reported seeing Harris put six DVDs, 3 CDs and a pack of batteries into her backpack and attempt to leave the store without paying. The items totaled $172.
n RAPE: A woman reported to police around 8:03 a.m. Saturday a man allegedly crawled into her bed while she was asleep and initiated intercourse with her. At first she thought it was her boyfriend but then realized it was not. According to the police report, it appeared the suspect was allowed entry into the house and was an acquaintance of the woman’s boyfriend.
n BURGLARY: Third-floor radiator units were stolen from the now-closed Our Lady of Lebanon around 5:10 p.m. Friday. Police reportedly noticed a ladder on the property that could’ve been used to gain entry to a rooftop hatch.
n BURGLARY: A building owner reported around 5:36 p.m. Friday someone forced entry into her Highland Avenue building by prying open a door secured with nails. Stolen was copper piping, sinks, metal freezer doors, grease traps and hot water tanks, according to the police report. The assessed value of the stolen goods is $7,000.
n VANDALISM: A woman reported to police receiving an anonymous phone call around 2:45 a.m. Saturday telling her to check her tires. She did and noticed all four had been slashed, according to the police report. The tires are valued at $400 and the woman suspects an ex-friend responsible, police reported.
