BLOTTER: Police reports published Oct. 15

City of Lockport

• BURGLARY: Ronald K. Johnson, 39, of Rochester was charged Wednesday with third-degree grand larceny and second-degree burglary. Johnson reportedly came to the victim’s Lockport residence as she was heading to work in Buffalo. The victim was later notified that items were missing from her home. Upon arrival, she found her home ransacked, with a total of $6,000 worth of items missing, according to the report. Police said that upon further investigation, they learned that Johnson stole a car from Clinton Street in Lockport. The car was recovered in Rochester with the stolen items from his previous victim’s apartment, according to police reports. Johnson was taken to Monroe County Jail.

• WANTED: Two men are accused of stealing a fundraising jar from a city restaurant. Arrested on petit larceny charges Wednesday were Joshua D. Cooney, 21, 131 Gooding St., and Logan Gillon, no address provided. Police responded to a call at Molinaro’s Restaurant on Walnut Street. A witness saw three male suspects enter the store and ask for a menu. As the witness went to grab a menu for two of the suspects, Gillon reportedly stole the breast cancer donation jar and ran out of the store. The jar contained about $15, according to reports. As the police reviewed the security tape, they reportedly saw one of the other suspects take another $5. Two Lockport Police officers were able to locate the suspects on Washburn Street, but Cooney reportedly fled the scene on foot before his eventual arrest.

• ASSAULT: Emily G. Curtis, 16, 59 Gabriel Drive, Apt. B, was charged with third-degree assault. Patrol responded to the back of the police station for a family dispute. Upon arrival, the two family members were not actively fighting, but the victim said after she came home from Erie County Medical Center, Curtis hit and bit her, leaving marks.

• CHARGED: Amanda N. Bernardi, 18, 6735 Minnick Drive, Apt. 56, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief after allegedly admitting to scratching the word “Die” into the paint of a 2009 Chevy Cobalt, causing $2,391.13 in damage.

• HARASSMENT: Police received a walkup harassment complaint from a Lockport woman who said a man she had gone to school with started calling at least four times a day between Oct. 5 and 11, insisting that she be his girlfriend. According to an Amherst police report, the man showed up at the victim’s workplace attempting to talk to her in person and take her to lunch. The suspect was advised by police and the victim’s work security force to have no contact with the victim.

Newfane

• HARASSMENT: Patrol responded to a phone call from a Coomer Road, Burt, victim who believed she was receiving hang-up phone calls from a friend’s boyfriend. Police investigated and found that the suspect was calling from pay phones in Buffalo, but denied the allegations.
