GRAND LARCENY: Emily Rose Bechtold, 20, 144 Locust St. Apt. 1 was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of a hypodermic needle on Wednesday. According to the arrest report, Bechtold allegedly took a Hi-Point semi-automatic from under a bed at a residence. The rifle was valued at $300 and Bechtold offered it for sale. She was arrested at police headquarters.
LARCENY: A Hartland Road man reported Wednesday to Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that someone within the previous 18 days removed five and a half boxes of honey. The report said the honey was about 300 pounds and is valued at $900, but that didn’t include the 45 screen frames contained in the boxes. The frames were taken as well, valued at a total of $125.
SHOPLIFTING: Michael A. Bajzik, 40, 2622 Youngstown Lockport Road was charged Thursday with petit larceny. Deputies from the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office reportedly saw a suspicious man outside of Crosby’s convenience store on Youngstown Lockport Road. The man, identified as Bajzik, was carrying two bundles of prewrapped firewood, the same firewood stacked outside of Crosby’s which was closed at the time the deputies saw Bajzik. As deputies approached Bajzik tried to get rid of the firewood, the report said. Bajzik reportedly said he took the firewood from Crosby’s without intending to pay for it. He was given an appearance ticket to appear Aug. 27 in Porter Town Court.
MARIJUANA: Michael T. Sawyer, 23, Lockport was charged Saturday with unlawful possession of marijuana. New York State Police gave Sawyer an appearance ticket on Skye Road in the Town of Alabama.
